quote of the week:

“fitness is a cheat code for life.”

~ Mark Bell

What's up with this blog?

Well, many of my friends and family may not know this, but after years of shooting wedding and portrait photography, I decided several months ago that it was time to close that chapter in my life and focus more on my family and my own well being. I allowed too many late nights and weekends crammed full of shooting to begin to get in the way of my family life and my own personal health. As the kids have gotten older and become much more involved in sports and school activities, we were getting stretched pretty thin.

Also, during this transition, I’ve become more and more interested in the fitness world and what it takes to increase longevity in life and making better choices for my physical well being. So, while my circle of family, friends, and acquaintances is quite small, I do get quite a few questions about my weight loss and how I’m doing it and what steps I’m taking along the way. So, that’s why I’ve started this redone version of my website. I’ve maintained some sort of online presence for a very long time, and I feel like this is a way to contribute to my circle, and a way that I can make a difference in the lives of those around me.

My hope is that if you’re reading these posts, you’ll be encouraged. We’re surrounded by poor health options, obesity is unbelievably rampant around us. However, we don’t have to be that way. Everyone can make better choices and live a better quality of life. I’ll be as transparent as I can. Reach out to me if you’d like. Let’s talk about being better today than we were yesterday. Small, consistent steps forward make for big successes in the long term. I wish the best for all of you and again, I hope that this documented journey gives anyone reading this the realization that you’re not alone in trying to be healthier and to have a better quality of existence while you’re here on this Earth.
