I love this time of year because it’s only a couple of weeks in between Valentine’s Day and Angela’s birthday, so I get to spoil her like crazy on two separate days in just a couple of week period of time. Not that I need a reason to spoil her, as she’s the best wife ever, but it never hurts to have an excuse.
This year she surprised me with something I’ve been wanting for quite some time, but didn’t NEED it so I never bought it for myself.
Some of you may know that she and I got on the fitness bandwagon last year, she started mid summer and I got serious with it around October. I started the couch to 5K running program at the beginning of November and since doing so I’ve lost around 13 lbs and now am running 4-5 miles four times per week. I’ve been using an old iPod shuffle, and the old ones are kind of weird because it’s not easy to switch between playlists, they all get jumbled together. I listen to different stuff when I stretch, run, and lift, so one of the newer ones would be much more convenient for me.
Well….she hooked me up and she got me the swank polished steel one, and she had some cool engraving done on it too. Don’t mind the dust, it’s hard to get it clean for macro shots, since I’ve already run with it.
I have the coolest wife ever!

2010 is shaping up to be our best year yet! Since our January bridal show we’ve been flooded with inquires and new clients, which we couldn’t be happier about. Today we added three more amazing couples to our client list for 2010!
05/15/10 – Liz & Mike
09/18/10 – Melissa & Dan
10/16/10 – Kara & Grant
Thank you so much for choosing us to work with you on your wedding days! We’re looking forward to making some amazing images!
I love this gig, I really do. Sometimes I wonder if I could love it even more than I already do, and each time I ask that question, it’s not long before something happens to make me realize that it just keeps getting better. Shortly after posting Leah and Daniel’s wedding day images to their online gallery, I received this in my email inbox:
“Woohoo! Scott, today is my birthday and this couldn’t be a better present! Every one of the photos is absolutely beautiful. Thank you to you and Angela for doing such a wonderful job. You both were great to work with. Thanks again, Leah.”
How cool is that?? I had no idea it was Leah’s birthday, so to know that she loved their images and it all rolled out on her birthday made everything even sweeter. It’s hard to frown on a day like that.

It seemed like we had Leah and Daniel booked for such a LONG time before their wedding finally rolled around. They were our first 2010 wedding, and we kicked off the year with a great one! The ceremony was held at the Bella Vista Baptist Church and the reception at Riordan Hall. Both were absolutely gorgeous.
I have so many favorites from the day, several of them being the bride and groom images. We shot them shortly after the ceremony and formals, and while it was SUPER cold out, Leah and Daniel made some great images.

Leah’s nervous/happy smile made this image one of my favorite favorites.

While the girls finished getting ready, the guys had some fun out in the cold.

Love the smiles!

Cool light!

Bling!

Loved this one too!

Thanks for letting us share the big day with you guys! Angela and I wish you the very best in your new life together!!!

This Saturday, January 16th, Angela and I will be showing our work at the NWA Bride Premier Showcase at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Springdale, Arkansas. The show runs from 10am until 4pm, with the fashion show beginning at 4pm. Our booth location hasn’t been given to us yet, so I can’t provide a map like I normally do, but we’ll be there for sure!
Stop by and see us! We’d love to visit with you!

Far and away the most popular date of 2010, and we’ve been looking forward to it for quite some time. We’ve had Laura and Dane’s wedding booked for several months now, and while it’s still a ways off, I’m sure the next 10 months will fly by! Angela and I have had the pleasure of getting to know Laura over the last couple of years, and when she and Dane decided to book us for their BIG day, we were thrilled! Laura is a superstar at interior design and we’re so excited to see how she puts together all of the details at the wedding. Oh…and by the way, she lays out a heck of a bridal show booth design too!
Here’s a few of our favorites from their engagement session (Yes….I know I’m behind on the blog!!):

We can’t wait for October….but in the meantime, go Cowboys!

Just wanted to stop in on the blog for a minute to wish everyone a very happy new year! 2009 was fantastic, and we’re looking forward to an amazing 2010. Since the Christmas holiday, we’ve had an incredible amount of 2010 and 2011 inquiries coming in, and our dates are filling up nicely. It’s shaping up to be our busiest year to date, so what’s not to look forward to?
Over the next week or so, I’ll be posting a few events from 2009 that we didn’t get up on the blog before the end of the year, but we’ve just got to share them. We’re kicking off our 2010 weddings with Leah and Daniel tomorrow!
In the next month or so, we’ll be revealing a couple of new things, including our new linen cover wedding books. We’ve already got these in our pricing structure for the new year, and our samples are on the way. As always, we try to keep things oh so simple, but oh so sweet.
We wish all of you an incredible 2010!

Just a quick post before I call it quits tonight to let all potential wedding clients know that our new pricing structure for 2010 is now available. To view the package options, check out the pricing section of the wedding website. For a complete pricing structure including all a la carte options, please send us an email and we’ll send over a pdf copy. All potential clients that have received information in the month of December will have the opportunity to book on either the old or new pricing structure.
We always listen to feedback from our potential and current clients, and what we’ve heard over the last year is that you really wanted two things: 1. Engagement images on DVD along with the wedding images. 2. Wedding books with more pages. Well, we did that and a tad more. Now all packages include the engagement images on dvd with a personal print release, all packages include a wedding book, and the larger packages include more pages in the books. In addition, the bridal session now also includes the images on dvd with a print release. So, you asked for it, and you got it, and then some!
We’re looking forward to an amazing 2010. Our inquires have shot through the roof since Christmas, which will add on to what is already shaping up to be a fantastic year. We’ll be shooting in Paris, Rome, Las Vegas, and will be hitting several wedding venues in Kansas, Oklahoma, and of course Arkansas. It’s going to be a blast!
As we’re wrapping up a busy end of 2009, we’ve set our sights to what is shaping up to be a much busier 2010. Each year we sit down and set some goals for ourselves as we plan our upcoming year, and for this upcoming year, I decided I want to start a couple of projects for myself. They are basically to shoot for fun, with only the agenda of making a fantastic and interesting image.
So, I’m going to do 3 different projects that will span throughout the year. The first will be a self portrait exercise. This one I only need myself and a camera, so I’m all set.
The second is going to be my bridal series. I’m not really going to release a lot of info on this one, as I hope to turn it into some sort of book down the road. If you’ve got a wedding gown and want to volunteer as a model, just shoot me an email. Every model gets a disk of the final images and a release to print them however they wish.
The third is a lifestyle portraiture series. Again, I’ll need volunteers as models. Same deal applies, you get the final images on disk and a release. I’m hoping to find some musicians for this one especially, but I want to emphasize something about the subject that is of interest to them and their peers in each image created.
So….if you’re up for some cool image opportunities, let me know!
